Welcome to Principal’s Corner. We thoroughly enjoyed Dallas Arcand and his hoop dancing presentation this week. He shared lots of information about his culture and what hoop dancing means to him. Thanks to all our parents and guests for coming to join us. There is no school on Friday, September 30 for National Truth & Reconcilation Day. Just a reminder that we no longer have early dismissal on the first Wednesday of each month. We have a regular dismissal time each day. Have a great week! – Susanne Stroud, Principal

    Leader in Me

We will be having monthly assemblies to learn about the 7 Habits and how we can integrate them into our lives. This month we are learning about Habit 1 – Be Proactive. Students who demonstrate the 7 Habits at school can enter into a draw for monthly prizes. We will have some fun activities for families as well – stay tuned!

We will be integrating the Seven Sacred Teachings into our Leader in Me assemblies. The Seven Teachings is a set of teachings on human conduct towards others. The teachings are universal to most First Nation people and are links that form a bond between all First Nation, Metis and Inuit people. The concepts of respect and sharing form the foundations of the seven natural laws and each law honours one of the basic virtues necessary for a full and healthy life.

This month we are focusing on Humility. The wolf represents humility. At the end of the month, we will be recognizing those students who demonstrated humility with the Leader of the Month certificates. These will be presented to students in the classrooms and we will share the pictures with families.
