Welcome to the Principal’s Corner.
It looks like we have cooler weather coming this week. Thank you for sending students with warm outdoor gear. When we have wet or snowy weather, students must remove their outdoor shoes. All students need indoor shoes for use inside the school as well as in the gym. Have a fantastic week!
– Susanne Stroud, Principal & Kathy Kloschinsky, Assistant Principal
Stay tuned for a special new website page dedicated to all things related to Communication at EDMS. The link will be added here later this week and you will receive an email with a direct link to the new page.
In the meantime, this Weekly Update, the school calendar, and emails and/or text messages from the office and admin are the main method of general communication. Classroom teachers will also send global emails to the whole class.
If you are looking for a timely response to an urgent matter, please call the school.
EMAIL COMMUNICATION: The office staff and admin have limited time to respond to emails during the school day. The rest of our staff, including classroom teachers, are busy with students or supervision duties during the day, and it is rare that any of us can respond immediately. Thank you in advance for your understanding and consideration with regards to the timeliness of direct email communication.
Please don’t forget to use our student absence form when reporting time away from school for your child. The directions are listed in the section below.
School News
If you are using this form to report an absence, please complete this form before 8am. Alternatively, you can call the school office at 780-929-1928.
**Teachers complete attendance and then the secretaries verify the absences based on their calls or online submissions. If you have reported an absence and have the PowerSchool app, you will get an immediate notification that your child is marked unexcused.
Please be patient as it takes a few minutes for the secretaries to change the absence code to reflect your reported absence.
Parent Information
Alberta Education requires a signed registration form for each student every year. Completion of this form not only ensures that we have accurate health information and current emergency contact information, but also contains several required informed consent forms for your child. Please complete by November 30.
