    Welcome to the Principal’s Corner

    This week we have some special events happening. We are celebrating our bus drivers who transport our students to and from school every day. Wednesday is Hats on for Mental Health. Students and staff are encouraged to wear a special hat. We are also honouring Indigenous Women this week through stories. Our updated dress code will be coming soon! Details will be emailed when they are available.

    LOsT N’ FOUND

    Our lost n’ found is filling up again. Please have your children check for any misplaced items this week in the lost n’ found. We will be packing it up and donating it on Friday, May 10. You can see most of the items below:

    In June, we will send home a form for parents to complete to allow students to go home after exams.

    Extracurricular Activities

    Elementary and JH Track & Field will be starting soon. JH students did a quick sign-up so we could gather numbers and we hope to start practices this week. If your son/daughter has shown interest, we will send out our online sign-up form to parents via email to ensure availability and commitment.

    Flag football games are weekly on Wednesdays, from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Turf Training Centre in Nisku.

    In an effort to enhance communication around extracurricular opportunities, we have created a digital sign up for all activities as they become available. This google form is required for students to participate and to help us with our planning. Once practices begin, parents will fill out the required permission forms in PowerSchool and pay the applicable fee.

    SPIRIT WEAR STORE

    As you know, we were excited to launch the opening of our new online school spirit wear store with Lil’ Buckeroo Designs. Thank you to everyone who purchased some new Duck Gear.

    The store is still open and you have an option to ship to your home or do a pick up in the shop in New Sarepta. Deliveries to the school only happen when we do a school wide campaign like we just completed prior to Dec. 10. We will let you know when new items are added and when we plan to do another school wide order. Don’t miss out on your chance to get some new spirit wear.     Parent Association

    The Parent Association is urgently looking for an experienced Tournament Game Schedule Coordinator and Setup Coordinator to oversee the building of outdoor rinks for the Ball Hockey Tournament Fundraiser. Please email [email protected] to learn more.

    The Hot Lunch Program is up and running. It runs from October to June.

    Menus will be loaded into the system in groups: October to Christmas break, January to Spring break and April to the end of the school year.

    The Hot Lunch online order system requires a small amount of setup time at the beginning as you must register each child you have attending our school prior to ordering.

    In order for vendors to fulfill our Hot Lunch orders, we need to close ordering from 10 – 14 days in advance, therefore, please ensure that you place your Hot Lunch order before each deadline. The deadline is noted on each vendor menu.
