    outdoor learning

    grade 1 immersion

Students in Grade 1 Immersion analyzed properties of objects and investigated how they can be changed by saving the toys from the ice with warm water, salt, heat and breaking. Students participated in centers to explore changing properties of objects by stretching, cutting, bending, twisting and molding. It was great fun in Grade 1 Science!

    sPECIAL PRESENTATION COMING SOON!

We are excited to announce that EDMS will be hosting Jesse Lipscombe to speak to our JH students on June 10.

J.E. Lapointe and Caledonia JH students will also be joining us to hear Jesse’s impactful message. Black Gold leadership students had the opportunity to hear Jesse speak in a virtual presentation a couple months ago and thanks to the support of our parent association and the other two schools, we were able to join together to bring the message to a much larger group of students. More details will follow shortly.

    Extracurricular Activities

junior high (JH) track & field

JH Track & Field is under way and the practice times are listed below. The JH track meet is on Tuesday, May 28. Mrs. Flontek and Mr. Lane are working with all students (who signed up) in physed class to teach and do try-outs. Mrs. Kloschinsky is providing additional coaching and practice outside of PE time. All that are wanting to attend the track meet are encouraged to attend the practices. As soon as teams are chosen (based on try-outs in PE class), parents will be emailed and permission forms will be on PowerSchool to be filled out asap.

    elementary track & field

Mrs. Flontek is working with the elementary students in physed classes for track & field and for the high jump competition that is quickly approaching. If your child is in upper elementary and is interested in trying-out for these activities, please save the dates for the following:

    • Thursday, May 30 – elementary high jump meet at Champs Vallee
    • Friday, June 7th – elementary track meet at RMS (Riverview Middle School in Devon)

Permission forms and details will be sent out when Mrs. Flontek has identified all team members.

Flag football games are weekly on Wednesdays, from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Turf Training Centre in Nisku.

In an effort to enhance communication around extracurricular opportunities, we have created a digital sign up for all activities as they become available. This google form is required for students to participate and to help us with our planning. Once practices begin, parents will fill out the required permission forms in PowerSchool and pay the applicable fee.

If your child is interested in participating in any extracurricular activities, please use the sign-up forms that will be posted in this section. You can access each form by clicking on the images below.

Track and Field sign-up forms will be available soon.

    SPIRIT WEAR STORE

As you know, we were excited to launch the opening of our new online school spirit wear store with Lil’ Buckeroo Designs. Thank you to everyone who purchased some new Duck Gear.

The store is still open and you have an option to ship to your home or do a pick up in the shop in New Sarepta. Deliveries to the school only happen when we do a school wide campaign like we just completed prior to Dec. 10. We will let you know when new items are added and when we plan to do another school wide order. Don’t miss out on your chance to get some new spirit wear. You can visit our store by clicking on this LINK. Goooo Ducks!

The Hot Lunch Program is up and running. It runs from October to June.

Menus will be loaded into the system in groups: October to Christmas break, January to Spring break and April to the end of the school year.

The Hot Lunch online order system requires a small amount of setup time at the beginning as you must register each child you have attending our school prior to ordering.

In order for vendors to fulfill our Hot Lunch orders, we need to close ordering from 10 – 14 days in advance, therefore, please ensure that you place your Hot Lunch order before each deadline. The deadline is noted on each vendor menu.
