    Welcome to the Principal’s Corner

As you are aware, our school was collecting donations for the foodbank. Our annual Pi Day was so much fun! Many staff were Pi’d and our donation pile was huge! Thank you to all for supporting this worthy fundraiser.

We will have some snow and different weather this week, please continue to ensure your children are dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. We appreciate everyone having a second pair of shoes with all the sloppy weather.

This year to celebrate Rock Your Socks Day and World Down Syndrome Day on March 21 students have been participating in a sock decorating contest. A winner from Div. 1, 2 and 3 will be chosen and their sock design will be put on a cookie. The cookies will be sold next week starting March 18 on Powerschool. Cookies will be $5 each and students can purchase a maximum of 2 cookies. Cookie quantity is limited so order early. A portion of the proceeds will be going to the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society. Cookies will be delivered on Friday March 22.

    REMINDER:

March 19 and 20 is kindergarten student led conferences. Spring Break and Easter are coming. March 25 – 29 is spring break and there Easter Monday is April 1. There is NO SCHOOL for students and staff for those dates and we return back to class on April 2.

OPEN HOUSE THIS WEEK – MARCH 20 at Beaumont Comp (ESBCHS).

    Extracurricular Activities

REMINDER: There will be a pep rally on March 19 at 2:00 pm followed by a wrap up event for all 4 teams on March 20. The elementary basketball teams will have a team celebration in April.

Gr. 5/6 Floor Hockey teams are doing practices. Their tournaments will be in the first two weeks of April after spring break.

In an effort to enhance communication around extracurricular opportunities, we have created a digital sign up for all activities as they become available. This google form is required for students to participate and to help us with our planning. Once practices begin, parents will fill out the required permission forms in PowerSchool and pay the applicable fee.

If your child is interested in participating in any extracurricular activities, please use the sign-up forms that will be posted in this section. You can access each form by clicking on the images below.

There are no extracurricular signups at this time. Floor Hockey teams have all started practicing and each coach will communicate the practice schedule with parents.

    SPIRIT WEAR STORE

As you know, we were excited to launch the opening of our new online school spirit wear store with Lil’ Buckeroo Designs. Thank you to everyone who purchased some new Duck Gear.

The store is still open and you have an option to ship to your home or do a pick up in the shop in New Sarepta. Deliveries to the school only happen when we do a school wide campaign like we just completed prior to Dec. 10. We will let you know when new items are added and when we plan to do another school wide order. Don’t miss out on your chance to get some new spirit wear. You can visit our store by clicking on this LINK. Goooo Ducks!

The Hot Lunch Program is up and running. It runs from October to June.

Menus will be loaded into the system in groups: October to Christmas break, January to Spring break and April to the end of the school year.

The Hot Lunch online order system requires a small amount of setup time at the beginning as you must register each child you have attending our school prior to ordering.

In order for vendors to fulfill our Hot Lunch orders, we need to close ordering from 10 – 14 days in advance, therefore, please ensure that you place your Hot Lunch order before each deadline. The deadline is noted on each vendor menu.
