Welcome to Principal’s Corner. This week we start a new month – March. We will be learning about Habit 5 – Seek First to Understand, Then Be Understood. So often we listen to respond and we listen based upon our experiences. We will be learning how to be empathetic and be a good listener. We are looking for volunteers for Friday, March 3 for our Winter Carnival day. Sign up HERE. Have a fantastic week.

    Pictures of the Week

Friday was Touch of Class Day. Students had the chance to wear fancy clothes, hair pieces, makeup and/or jewelry.

Grade 2 students participated in cultural centers this week to learn about our Acadian community, Meteghan. We had parent volunteers cook potato pancakes (fring frangs) and students loved them. We are so excited to have these opportunities again for our students!

Beaumont RCMP and Municipal Enforcement stopped by our school on Pink Shirt Day.

Last week our Junior High Fitness Class went to play some flag football at the Turf Centre.

    Upcoming Events

    Bonjour!

ÉDMS is very excited to be planning our Elementary Carnaval on Friday, March 3rd, 2023.  Last year the French Immersion classes held a mini-version and this year we are excited to extend the invitation to all students in Kindergarten to Grade 6,  in both the French Immersion program as well as the English program.  In order for this to run smoothly, we are asking for some parent volunteers to assist us.  We are in need of some volunteers to help with the Hot Chocolate station and with the Bonhomme Carnaval mascot.  If either of these school-wide station volunteer jobs interest you, please complete this form and Mme Novak will contact you next week with a volunteer confirmation.  Please note that the deadline for signing up for the school-wide station volunteer jobs is Monday, February 27th.  Please note that younger siblings will not be able to attend with you while you volunteer on this day.  All volunteers will be required to complete the Volunteer Form located below, if you have not already done so.  Merci for helping us to provide this fun cultural learning experience for our students.

    Extracurricular Events

Click on the image above to complete registration in PowerSchool. We are looking for any boys or girls in Grades 6-9 who want to play non contact flag football in April. See Mrs. Stroud for more information. We have only a few spots left on our team!
