Welcome to Principal’s Corner. We had a K-3 assembly this past week. We look forward to our Grade 4-6 and JH assemblies this upcoming week. Students are also having fun learning their basic facts. Don’t forget to try out some math games at home (see videos below).

We are waiting for an additional doorbell to be installed (lower down on the door) before we begin locking the doors. We will continue to leave the front door unlocked until all the hardware is installed. We will let you know when we will begin to lock the front door.

SKUNK – This is a very simple addition math game, which is played with dice.
KNOCK OFF THE CLOCK – This game is good for addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. It can be a one or two player game.

School News
This year our school is hosting an Art Night on Wednesday, April 12, an evening of celebrating our students’ talents. As part of this event we will be having a Talent Show with live performances from students. The talent show is open to all students from Grade 4-9. Audition forms are available outside the music room door and are due to Mrs Olson by February 22. Auditions will take place during the week of March 6. Results will be posted on the Music room door on March 10. Students will be given a time that they are to perform and be in the gym. We have talked to the students about expectations for this process, but would like to let you know as well so that you can assist your child.
- Please send a well prepared performance to be judged. Have all of your materials ready, memorize your lyrics, and have the music ready.
- Lyrics and scripts should be school and age appropriate. Remember we are performing for all of the grades in our school.
Unfortunately, we do not have time to have every child perform for the actual show, but we will do our best to make sure that we have as many students as possible participate. We will be looking for well polished performances, as well as a variety of acts. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Olson by email at [email protected]
École Dansereau Meadows Meadow School is arranging ski/snowboard trips to the Rabbit Hill Snow Resort. This activity is being offered as an after-school activity. Lessons are available for all students however, all beginner students must take lessons. The children will leave the school at approximately 3:30 pm and will return at approximately 8:00 pm. In the event of inclement weather (-20 including wind-chill or bus cancellation) the activity for that day will be cancelled. Students can bring their own equipment to school in the morning and it will be transported by the transport volunteer.

Parent Association Events
BOTTLE DRIVE UPDATE – We had 11 students total and 6 parents volunteer their time to collect and transport bottles. We raised $945 during the 2 hour bottle drive. We also collected some bottle donations from Chartier, OJ’s and Porters Pub which put our total over $1000. Parents can continue to donate bottles at the Beaumont Bottle Depot – just say you are from Dansereau Meadows.
Many thanks to all our families who have supported our Parent Association Fundraising. Our Papa John’s Pizza night raised $373.40. Thanks everyone! Mark your calendars for our next one on February 27. Share with family and friends. This is good for the Beaumont and Leduc locations.
