Duck Certificate

All students in Grades K-3 will receive a certificate from their teacher acknowledging their accomplishments.  The certificates have been handed out throughout the year at our assemblies.  Students who did not get their certificate will receive one at the end of the year .

Duck Award

Each class in Grades 4-9 will select a student in their class for the Duck Award based on criteria.  The teacher and administration review all nominees and make the final selection.  A student may only win the Duck Award one time during their time at our school. These awards will be given out at the Division 2 and 3 level assemblies at the end of June.

Honours Certificate

Students in Grades 7-9 will receive an Honours certificate if they have a combined average of 80% in core subjects (ELA, Social, Science, Math & Physical Education) by the last Friday before final exams. Students will also need to have a minimum score of S – Satisfactory in all non core and option courses.   Students must have all assignments completed and handed in before the second Friday in June to be considered for Honours.  The Honours certificate for grade 9s will be handed out at Farewell. Students in grades 7 and 8 will receive theirs on the last day of school.


Honours with Distinction

Students in Grades 7-9 will receive an Honours with Distinction certificate if they have a combined average of 90% in core subjects (ELA, Social, Science, Math & Physical Education) by the second Friday in June.  Students will also need to have a minimum score of S – Satisfactory in all non core and option courses.Students must have all assignments completed and handed in before the third Friday in June to be considered for Honours. The Honours with Distinction certificate for grade 9s will be handed out at Farewell. Students in grades 7 and 8 will receive theirs on the last day of school.


Highest Academic

For Junior High Students

  •         One recipient per grade
  •         Highest academic average in core subjects by the second Friday in June.
  •         Students receive a Gift Card from Black Gold Regional School Division.

 

Clara Hutton Fine Arts Award

This award is given to a grade 8 student who: 

  • Excels in academics
  • Excels in fine arts, standing out with future artistic talents 
  • Demonstrates kindness to all
  • Student receives a scholarship from Black Gold Regional School Division

This award is in honour of our student, Clara Hutton who passed away January 2018.  This award was created in collaboration with Clara’s family.


RCMP Award for Outstanding Youth Conduct

This award is given out to one Grade 7 student who demonstrates the following characteristics:

  • Honesty
  • Integrity
  • Professionalism
  • Compassion
  • Respect
  • Accountability

This student is nominated by their peers through as selection committee.  The award is presented  by the Beaumont RCMP detachment and the Chamber of Commerce.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
