Black Gold Schools invites all parents and guardians to a critical evening focused on student well-being and online safety.

Part 1: Mental Health Symposium (K-12 Focus)

Parents and guardians from all Black Gold schools are invited to attend our Mental Health Symposium. This essential event is designed to equip K-12 parents with valuable resources, information, and direct connections to the mental health services, organizations, and support networks available within our community.

  • Format: Open-House – allowing parents to interact directly with various agencies and gather personalized support information.
  • Date: Tuesday, January 27th
  • Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Location: Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts, Leduc

Part 2: Special Presentation on Internet Child Exploitation (ICE)

Immediately following the Symposium, families with children ages 14 and older are strongly encouraged to stay for a crucial presentation on Internet Child Exploitation (ICE).

Join us to gain crucial information on online safety and to learn more about the realities of children's internet use.

  • Presenters: Constable Stephanie Bosch (Edmonton Police Service) and Constable Scott Sterling (RCMP) from ALERT’s Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation unit (NAICE).
  • Focus: Emerging online risks and practical tips for parents on how to speak to their children about these difficult issues.
  • Time: Starts immediately following the Symposium (approx. 7:00 p.m.)
  • Location: Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts, Leduc

Please see the attached poster for more details on both events!
