Welcome to the Principal’s Corner

PC-FEB-18.24

Wishing you all a wonderful Family day tomorrow. School will resume on Tuesday. As mentioned last week, we look forward to a week and month with a big focus on KINDNESS! We challenge all families to speak with their children and brainstorm and encourage them to come up with ideas on how to be extra KIND this month. Then let’s put those ideas into action! Let’s fill each other’s emotional bank accounts as we focus on building trust and being KIND. We will talk about this in our assembly this month.

EDMS-KINDNESS

PINK SHIRT DAY, is an opportunity to stand together in support of being KIND and spreading KINDNESS everyday and everywhere. We encourage and hope to see all students, staff, and parents wearing PINK on Wednesday, FEBRUARY 28!

Please see the extra-curricular section below if your child is interested in playing Floor Hockey or Flag Football. In order for students to try out, parents must sign up their child on the applicable google form to declare interest in trying out. If your child makes the team, further information and permission forms will be shared at that time.

GRADE 4 and 7 parents: Don’t forget to fill out the AB ED survey. We value your feedback!

Have a fabulous week!

– Susanne Stroud, Principal & Kathy Kloschinsky, Assistant Principal

BASKETBALL NOTES

If our teams have home games, you can find them on our school calendar. We are always happy to have fans at our home games. Please use the Community entrance at the back of the school when coming to watch basketball games. Thanks so much!

EXTRA-CURRICULAR REMINDERS

In an effort to enhance communication around extracurricular opportunities, we have created a digital sign up for all activities as they become available. This google form is required for students to participate and to help us with our planning. Once practices begin, parents will fill out the required permission forms in PowerSchool and pay the applicable fee.

If your child is interested in participating in any extracurricular activities, please use the sign-up forms that will be posted in this section. You can access each form by clicking on the images below.

Elementary Floor Hockey & Flag Football is starting soon! Click on the sign up images below if your child is interested.

SPIRIT WEAR STORE

As you know, we were excited to launch the opening of our new online school spirit wear store with Lil’ Buckeroo Designs. Thank you to everyone who purchased some new Duck Gear.

The store is still open and you have an option to ship to your home or do a pick up in the shop in New Sarepta. Deliveries to the school only happen when we do a school wide campaign like we just completed prior to Dec. 10. We will let you know when new items are added and when we plan to do another school wide order. Don’t miss out on your chance to get some new spirit wear. You can visit our store by clicking on this LINK. Goooo Ducks!

The Hot Lunch Program is up and running. It runs from October to June.

Menus will be loaded into the system in groups: October to Christmas break, January to Spring break and April to the end of the school year.

The Hot Lunch online order system requires a small amount of setup time at the beginning as you must register each child you have attending our school prior to ordering.

In order for vendors to fulfill our Hot Lunch orders, we need to close ordering from 10 – 14 days in advance, therefore, please ensure that you place your Hot Lunch order before each deadline. The deadline is noted on each vendor menu.
