Welcome to Principal’s Corner. Thanks to all our staff who are volunteering at our Spook & Spike Volleyball tournament this weekend. We have 15 teams competing!

We can feel the excitement building as we get closer to Halloween. As a kid, I always loved Halloween and going Trick or Treating. My dad had to drive us to houses as we lived on a farm. I can’t wait to see all the costumes on Monday. I will have to dig into my costume box and figure out what I am going to wear (I have accumulated lots of costumes over my 30 years). I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween. Remember there is NO school on Tuesday. Staff have a professional development day. Thank you for taking the time to scroll through my Weekly Updates.

    Parent Teacher Conferences

It has been quite some time since we had face to face parent teacher conferences. Even if your child is doing well, it is a great way to connect with your child’s teacher. We look forward to seeing you all at our conference nights. (Kindergarten teachers are booking their own appointments. They will send home information to their parents.) BSRC Family Pass

Thank you to Stephanie Bailey and our School Council for advocating on behalf of our school to bring this program to our school. Many thanks to the City of Beaumont for supporting this.

The City of Beaumont has provided each school with two family passes for the BSRC.  Families can sign out the pass for one week and use the BSRC for free.  If the pass is not returned on the due date or if it is lost or damaged, a $20 fee will be added to your PowerSchool account.  The pass will be signed out to your child through our library Destiny program.  Once you fill out this form (click on image above), the librarian will sign the pass out and email you when the pass is coming home with your child.  The goal is to have as many families as possible use the pass so we will not reissue a pass to a family that has already signed it out.  Please return the family pass to the school office.

    Pictures of the Week

3AImmersion – investigating rocks and minerals in science.

Our School Trustees visited our Grade 7 students when they were dissecting owl pellets. Many thanks to all our student leaders who were door greeters and tour guides for the visit.

Our French Immersion students met in the Flex Space to do the draw for “les points coin-coin”. Students are given coupons when they speak French. Thanks to our Parent Association for supporting this initiative and allowing us to buy prizes.

Our hallways are looking a little spooky!

    Canadian Parents for French

CPF Branches and Chapters have been offering free or low cost ‘Adult French Lessons’ to our members for almost 40 years!  We believe it’s never too late to learn French… and we believe that when a parent shows interest in learning French, it only helps to motivate their child even more.
