Elementary School Times (Grades 1-6)
Morning Warning Bell & Attendance: 8:08 a.m
Afternoon classes resume: 12:15 p.m.
Afternoon Dismissal Time: 2:40 p.m.
- Students who arrive after 8:08 a.m. or 12:12 p.m. are considered late. They must come through the front doors and check in at the office.
- Students who need to come back into the school after school will need to use the front doors.
- Parents/Guardians are asked to remain outside the school for drop-off and pick up.
Junior High School Times
Morning Warning Bell & Attendance: 8:20 a.m
Junior High Break : 10:15 – 10:20 a.m.
Lunch: 12:10 – 12:30 p.m.
Afternoon classes resume: 12:54 p.m.
- Students who arrive after 8:20 a.m. or 12:51p.m. are considered late. They must come through the front doors and check in at the office.
- Students who need to come back into the school after school will need to use the front doors.

English & French Immersion Kindergarten
Morning Classes: 8:11 – 10:57 a.m. (Doors open at 8:00 a.m. Warning Bell: 8:08 a.m.)
Afternoon Classes: 11:54 a.m.- 2:40 p.m. (Doors open 11:49 a.m.)
Kindergarten students enter the school through the north doors by the Junior Playground.
- Students who arrive after 8:08 a.m. or 11:51 a.m. are considered late. They must come through the front doors and check in at the office.

Staggered Entry
At the beginning of the school year, students come to school in small groups. The teacher welcomes the children into the program and gently introduces them to the Kindergarten environment. The children are given time to become acquainted with each other and with classroom activities and materials. Your child’s staggered entry time is noted in the Welcome letter below. This letter was also emailed to you along with additional class info on June 13.

JR Kindergarten 2023-2024
Black Gold School Division is excited to open a new Junior Kindergarten at our school. This program is for children who live in home where another language other than English spoken? Consider having an intake screening and find out if your child can qualify for *free programming with us.
*There is a yearly material enhancement fee of $80.00 for 4 year old students.

Supervision & Entrance Map
Before School – Elementary
- The school entrances, lineups and tarmac are supervised from 8:00-8:10 a.m.
- Please do not drop children off before 8:00 a.m.
- Students who arrive between 8:00 – 8:08 a.m. have ample time to get to classrooms prior to attendance being taken.
Before School – Junior High
- The Junior High entrance is supervised from 8:10 – 8:18 a.m.
- Please do not drop children off before 8:10 a.m.
- Students who arrive between 8:10 – 8:18 a.m. have ample time to get to classrooms prior to attendance being taken.
Recess and Noon Hour
Students will be supervised during the morning and lunch recess. All students who go home for lunch must have a formed filled out by parents. No students are permitted to leave the school grounds other than to go home. Students are not permitted to go to another student’s house for lunch.
After School
- Bus students are supervised by school personnel.
- All students are expected to go directly home. The Parks/Tarmac are closed from 2:40 – 3:30pm.
- It is a parental responsibility to supervise your child after school hours. The school cannot be expected to deal with issues that happen after school hours.
- The hallways are supervised until 2:50 p.m.
- Children, who return to play on the playground structures or on school property after school will not be supervised by school personnel. Monitoring student behaviour is a parental responsibility after school hours.
- If a student needs to come back into the school, they will need to use the front door and ring the doorbell. This door is monitored from 7:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
